I normally don't do high reps, but yesterday when I got to the gym I decided to do something different. The power rack was being used by a toner doing his massive 65 Lb. barbell cheat curls, so I decided to do the Hammer Leg Press for reps. Yesterday was my 44th birthday, and to celebrate I set out to do as many reps as possible with 200 Lbs. I was actually able to get 225 reps, and I might have been able to crank out some more but the bottoms of my feet were absolutely killing me. I went at a steady pace and after each 25 reps, I would take four deep breaths. I was sweating like a pig by the time I was done, and today ( Monday) I am definitely "feeling it."

Jim that's great and Happy Birthday by the way! For a change of pace sometimes I will take a week "off" and just workout 3 x, picking one major
movement for each day and just going as high as possible with reps in a rest pause fashion. I usually pick the leg press over the squat when doing this ( for
safety's sake), th eoverhead press, and the deadlift but done sumo style ( helps with tire flip endurance). It is a nice change of pace from heavy lifting
and hits the muscles in a different way. Still hard work and hurts so good!

I'm a big proponent of very high reps as well. High reps are highly (no pun intended) underrated in my opinion. They offer hard work with less compressive
forces. Too often people will drop an exercise because its contraindicating to their health but if they dropped the weight instead they could possibly still
benefit from the exercise movement. I have found this to prove itself over and over again with clients.

I never did high reps until I trained with Drew. Up until then, my idea of high reps was anything over six. I originally was going to do high rep overhead
presses, but the power rack was being "used." I think I'll try the press next time I lift. High rep presses take a lot less out of you than leg
presses. Right now just walking is an adventure. I always seem to get delayed onset muscle soreness. Yesterday, after the 225 reps, my legs were not bad.
Today, especially as the day wore on, my legs are screaming. But, like you said Fred and Bigcracker, it does hurt so good, and I do love it. I wouldn't
trade the soreness for anything.

A great high rep movement I really enjoy is what I call the dumbbell squat/curl/press or better known as the "clean & press". I just do a
controlled version of the CP with 1 dumbbell. Place the dumbbell in the middle of the stance, stand up with it and stop, do an hammer curl (which as you
fatigue will have to be a more "aggressive" curl), stop, then do a shoulder press. Lower the weight down to the shoulder, uncoil the arm, lower the
bell to the ground, now switch arms. Everything gets worked and the heart gets-a-pumping as well. Went 18 straight minutes on this once and got 75 reps per arm
- called it a day.
